This was essentially a maquette for a bigger work. Using artificial plants as a structure, layers of expanding foam covers the plant shapes. It turns the flowers, grasses, and stalks into a bubbly, foreign landscape. It almost appears moldy. The transformation and abstraction allows for the color and form to become dominant in the work. In the end I didn't build the larger work, but this sculpture did influence later work.
