This piece was a nostalgic moment for me. It references the giant concrete grain elevators of the midwest. Much like the source material, the sculpture towers over the viewer. History is etched into the surfaces of the work, paint layered, scrubbed off, and layered again. Like many of my works there is a longing within the piece. A sense of nostalgia tinged with acknowledgement of the imperfect past.
